Union County General Hospital Is On Line
Union County General Hospital has started an expansion project that will almost double the size of the hospital. The existing facility was built in 1962 and has not had any significant renovation or expansion since then. The new expansion will include a new emergency department with two trauma rooms and two treatment rooms; a new operating room suite with two procedure rooms; a new radiology department that will be able to house the hospital's multi-slice CT scanner; a new laboratory draw station and the new main entrance to the hospital.
The construction on the expansion started in the spring of 2008 and will take a year to complete. The cost of the project is $9,200,000. Following completion of the expansion, renovation of the existing nursing station and laboratory will commence.
